Washington County 4-H currently has project groups for those interested in certain specialties. These groups give you much more detailed, hands-on experience within the subject matter they cover. These groups meet during the year and there is a small annual fee for participants. This fee, though, covers quite a few expenses so you don’t have to dole out money at each session. Some sessions, however, may require separate fees. Check out the different groups below:
Livestock Project Group
The livestock project group includes 4th thru 8th grade youth who are interested in raising sheep, goats, beef, and dairy animals. Topics include:
- Breeds of livestock
- Feeding
- Livestock judging and showing
- Nutrition
- Reproduction
- Safety
- General management
